Medical/Prescriptions

Although we don’t plan on getting sick or injured, most of us generally will need some type of medical care or attention. Medical insurance is important to assist in paying for medical expenses, whether they are expected or unexpected. Also, many medical plans may also help us to stay healthier through wellness initiatives and resources as well as possibly provide fully covered preventive care benefits when using network doctors.

Active full-time Columbus Consolidated Government employees have the option of choosing between two different medical plans:  the Silver Plan and the Gold Plan.   Please refer to the documents below to familiarize yourself with your medical benefits.

Wellness continues to be the main focus for 2024 as it relates to the benefit offering. As such, employees that choose to participate in the Wellness Program, will see no increase to their medical payroll deductions for 2024. Participation in the Wellness Program includes completion of a Personal Health Assessment (PHA) and participation in health coaching sessions if you are found to have high risk health factors based on the results of your PHA. Employees that complete the PHA and are not found to have high risk health factors, will automatically complete their participation in the Wellness Program and will receive no increase to their medical payroll deductions for 2023. Employees that complete the PHA and are found to have high risk health factors, will be given the opportunity to attend health coaching sessions. As long as the employee continues to be compliant, as determined by their health coach, they will receive no increase to their 2024 medical payroll deductions. If an employee fails to participate in the wellness program and/or does not remain compliant as determined by their health coach, there will be an increase to the medical payroll deductions. All employees that complete a PHA will receive a $25 gift card and a certificate for 1 Wellness Day. All PHAs must be completed by October 20, 2023.
