Medical/Prescriptions

Although we don’t plan on getting sick or injured, most of us generally will need some type of medical care or attention. Medical insurance is important to assist in paying for medical expenses, whether they are expected or unexpected. Also, many medical plans may also help us to stay healthier through wellness initiatives and resources as well as possibly provide fully covered preventive care benefits when using network doctors.

NEW FOR 2019: Employees will have the choice between two medical plans, a Low plan and a High plan. The high plan is most like your current plan however, there have been some plan design changes.

SPOUSAL SURCHARGE: Effective January 1, 2019, employees that choose to cover their spouse under the Cobb EMC medical plan, will be charged a $50 bi-weekly spousal surcharge if their spouse is eligible for group health coverage from his/her employer.

WELLNESS PREMIUM CREDIT: Effective January 1, 2019 employees that choose to participate in the 2019 Wellness Program will receive a $50 per month wellness premium credit. This monthly premium credit can be used towards the cost of medical, dental, vision, voluntary life, or any other benefit. Participation in the wellness program includes completion of a biometric screening and health risk assessment by December 15, 2018. You can choose to have your biometric screening done on-site (dates to be determined), at your physician’s office, or at a Lab Corp. Spouses can also participate and will be given a $100 gift card for completion of the biometric screening and health risk assessment. If based on the results of your screening, you are identified as having high risk health factors, you can participate in on-site health coaching.
